Here are just a few of the many interesting diversions and pastimes that Grand Cayman can offer you - specifically in the area around Seven Mile Beach! Check these out, and if you want to learn more about what Grand Cayman - or the other Caymans - have to offer, please feel free to get in touch with us!

  1. Dive at historic wrecks

The waters around Seven Mile Beach are home to several shipwrecks which are interesting in their own rights but also havens for tropical aquatic life.

The Wreck of the Cali, which was a freighter built in the early 1900s, sank in the waters off of George Town’s Seven Mile Beach in 1944 while carrying a cargo of rice. The ship sits in the waters just offshore and can easily be reached even by inexperienced divers - you can even see it below the surface.

There are also two other wrecks in the waters off of Seven Mile Beach, being the Gamma and the USS Kittiwake. All three of these shipwrecks can be explored and you can even hire guides to make it more practical.

  1. Go fishing

Anyone who enjoys putting a bend in the rod will find plenty of room for recreation in the waters around Grand Cayman and off of Seven Mile Beach in specific.

There are plenty of charter vessels that can take even inexperienced anglers offshore for the trip of a lifetime, but even intermediate fishermen can easily reach the Cayman’s highly sought after species with little more than a surf rod.

The island’s fertile waters are home to many sport fish including tuna, marlin, mahi-mahi, yellowtail snappers, and countless other species.

  1. Sail, snorkel, or paddleboard

If you love watersports then the Cayman Islands are for you. Whether you are an experienced sailor and want to test your mettle in the Caribbean as sailors have done for centuries or you simply enjoy being out in the surf, there are literally countless opportunities for recreation. Boaters, paddleboarders, swimmers, divers, and snorkelers could spend a lifetime on Grand Cayman and never run out of new things to try and explore.

  1. Taste the local cuisine

Whether you want to experience the Cayman Islands’ tropical take on fruit cake or sample a flight of different signature conch stews, Cayman Islands’ cuisine is definitively Caribbean. It’s been widely lauded as the premier influence and is rich in spices and flavors. There are many restaurants along the Seven Mile Beach area where you can sample the local cuisine. For you, that means finding the right Seven Mile Beach condos for sale is a lifetime pass to fine dining.
