With its clear, sparkling waters and vibrant wildlife, Seven Mile Beach is the perfect place to snorkel or scuba dive, allowing you to explore the ocean even more. There are a few great spots to check out if you choose to dive in!
The Wreck of Gamma is a fascinating shipwreck at the southern end of the Seven Mile Beach. The wreck is quite close to the shore so it’s easy to swim out to the wreck. A storm in the 1980s caused the wreck and it's been there ever since, allowing you to swim inside the structure itself and see fish doing the same!
There is another “wreck” of sorts off the Seven Mile Beach. In 2011, the US Kittiwake was purposefully sunk offshore. This ex-US Navy ship is now a destination for scuba divers all over the world. You’ll need to find a licensed tour company to snorkel or scuba here, but seeing the expansive ship and the abundance of wildlife (turtles, barracudas, tropical fish) is worth it!
Adventurous beachgoers also love checking out Cemetery Beach. This area is full of dense coral that is home to a wide variety of fish. It’s a bit far off but it’s worth going out there and enjoying the colorful, vibrant wildlife in this area.
Cheeseburger Reef is another great spot near Seven Mile Beach as well as Boggy Sands Reef. Located at the north end of Seven Mile Beach, Boggy Sands Reef is a bit difficult to access but once you’re there, you’ll see coral and fish galore.
